Why We Love Mars?

The Red Planet Mars, named after the Roman god of war has been subject to multiple studies over the years. Why? Because after Earth, Mars is the most habitable planet in our solar system. And just like Earth, it has its own atmosphere, winds, clouds, weather, volcanoes, valleys, dry river channels, polar ice caps, snowbanks, and glaciers.

Some of the major features of the planet namely Olympus Mons (a very large shield volcano), Hellas Planitia (the lowest point), and Valles Marineris (a system of canyons) are visible on this poster. The whole image is created by National Geographic with over 1,000 images from the Mars Orbiter Camera, merged with 330 million elevation points.
