    Mount Rainier National Park extends over the southeastern part of Pierce County and the northeastern part of Lewis County. It is the fifth National park of the United States and preserves the Mount Rainier volcano. Mount Rainier is the highest elevation of the state and is located in the Cascade Range Region.

    It is a stratovolcano which is a conical volcano built up by many layers of hardened lava. It offers 42 sites which are included in the National Register of Historic Places. Mount Rainier is encircled by the Wonderland Trail that goes over many ridges of Mount Rainier.

    The two large glaciers found in this area are Carbon Glacier and Emmons Glacier. Other attractions include Longmire visitors center, Paradise the south slope of Mount Rainier and Sunrise visitors center.

National Parks

Washington State is home to three National Parks which are Mount Rainier National Park, North Cascade National Park, and Olympic National Park. All the parks are captioned and can be easily placed on the frame.
